Tree Dismantling

This is the process by which trees or parts of trees are taken down in sections safely and controlled with the aid of ropes, pulleys and friction devices. A must if the tree is in close proximity to anything that could be damaged.

Tree Felling

This involves cutting the standing tree and felling it to the ground where it is then cut up and removed or you may choose to keep it for firewood.

Wildlife

Wildlife can be greatly impacted by tree surgery because many different types of animals depend on trees for food or shelter. For example, tree surgery done carelessly or done at the wrong time on a tree that provides bats and birds with a place to nest may cause the species to become displaced resulting in potential population decreases. However, tree surgery done carefully to maintain the health of trees and halting the spread of disease, can help all animals who rely on them as well as sustaining tree populations.

We care about trees and wildlife and ensure that all our work is done carefully to minimise any negative effects on wildlife. We do this by:

• Assessment – we thoroughly assess the tree/hedge and its surrounding area, checking for the presence of wildlife including protected species or habitats.
• Ensuring appropriate timing – tree surgery should ideally be carried out outside of breeding seasons to reduce disturbing or damaging active nests. We will advise the most appropriate timing for each individual tree.
• Striving for minimal intervention as much as possible – this involves doing only the tasks required to keep the tree healthy and causing the least amount of disruption to both the tree and its occupants.
